Description of Maltese Companies and Services provided:
Malta is a group of seven islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Only the three largest islands - Malta, Gozo and Comino - are inhabited. The terrain is low and rocky with coastal cliffs. Being in the heart of the Mediterranean, Malta is a melting pot of civilizations with a history stretching back thousands of years. Surrounded by the spectacular Mediterranean Sea, Malta enjoys a long period of summer months with scorching sunny days giving life to any local and foreign face in the country. With no natural resources in hand the Maltese take advantage of the island’s logistics which attract so many tourists throughout the whole year. Although small, the Maltese boast about their own language, Maltese, this forms part of the Semitic language family that includes Arabic. The national language is English which is also recognized as an official language. Many Maltese also speak Italian, French, German and Spanish. On their arrival, the participants will follow an English course which will definitely help improving or brushing up their language skills.
While the size of the island contributes to many industrial sectors being saturated, MEMo reserves a good relationship with many contacts within the Communications and Marketing sector. Participants having experience in Political Science and are keen on working in NGO’s are also at a good advantage when they choose to come to Malta considering that the island is full of organizations working together to preserve what’s already good and striving for better results. Having had a growth spurt in the technological field Malta offers young people the possibility of getting work experiences in Informatics and Graphic Design. Having said that, we also have a plethora of other opportunities which all give the participants an entrepreneurial taste of what it’s like to be a full time worker; being it in the field of architecture, tourism, finance or any other managerial department.
• Tutoring of participants
Each participant will have a tutor assigned to as their reference point for any possible problems that may occur. The tutor also acts as an intermediary with the business where the placement will be conducted (host organization) and a as their reference in case any information or documentation is required during the placement.
• Certification of the Placement
Each tutor will make a final report including the reports from the businesses, and evaluations from language courses, etc. which will be delivered to the promoter at the end of the placement.
